Andean sent me four of their products to try and review I was excited to try their products they sent me Quinoa pasta, Vegetable Quinoa noodle soup, Quinoa coffee cookies and Quinoa cookies. I really loved the cookies they were very delicious! They had great flavor and tasted very fresh. The Quinoa vegetable noodle soup my husband and I didn't really care for at all. We found it didn't have no flavor it was very bland kinda just tasted like plain noodles and water. The noodles were great! We made a butter season pasta with it! Very delicious! I love that i can enjoy the cookies without worrying about all the sugar they only have 5 grams of sugar which is amazing! They are also Gluten Free, Corn Free and Vegan free. corn, nut, and soy free.These cookies are actually very healthy for you. They also have very high protein and fiber they also contain 21 essential amino acids. I loved how they were also individually wrapped. I was able to just throw a cookie or two in my husbands lunch box for work without having to waste zip lock bags. They also have 3 other flavor cookies as well. The Quinoa pasta also has essential amino acids and 24 grams of protine in an 8 oz box which is amazing! They are also 100% organic, Kosher and gluten free. So these noodles are also very healthy for you as well. The soup is very healthy for you as well it has 15 grams of protein in the box. It is also Organic, gluten free and vegan. I love that all of Andean's products are so good for you! You know with every bite you are eating guilty free! I can see myself eating these products more often. Andean Dream was founded by Ingrid Hirstin Lazcano, a Los Angeles businesswoman, through the inspiration of her husband Fernando, a former Bolivian career diplomat.
Ingrid learned of the benefits of quinoa first-hand while working on a public relations campaign in 2005 with a research scientist and author who specialized in improving health through eating alkaline-rich foods. Intrigued by quinoa, she started eating the grain on a regular basis and noticed a significant increase in energy and a true feeling of well-being. This sparked her desire to create a line of products to share the benefits of this unique super food with U.S. consumers.
In 2006 Ingrid traveled to Bolivia to locate the world’s finest quinoa. High in the Bolivian Andes she found Royal Quinoa, which is prized over other quinoa varieties for its high protein and amino acid content. She quickly established a business relationship with Andean Valley, Bolivia’s largest exporter of organic Royal Quinoa, whose programs help create sustainable family businesses for the indigenous farmers of Royal Quinoa.
In 2006 the first Andean Dream cookies were introduced in Whole Foods Markets, and then, in 2008, Andean Dream launched its line of quinoa pastas.
